Enjoy trekking to the tip of the Hakozaki Peninsula to meet the great nature of "Senjojiki"
Senjojiki is a stopover point on the 1,000-km-long Michinoku Shiokaze Trail, which connects Aomori and Fukushima and is one of the highlights of the Sanriku Geopark. It is a must-visit spot in the Tohoku area to feel the incredible nature of the land and the sea.
It takes about one hour of trekking from the nearest parking lot to Senjojiki. On the way, you can enjoy the uninhabited island (Sanganjima), designated as a national wildlife sanctuary, the red Torii of the Ohakozaki Shrine, and the Ohakozaki Lighthouse. Guides will lead you along the unmarked paths and down the precipitous cliffs. Lunch will be served at the "Inn at Ohakozaki" with traditional Japnese style rice balls and miso soup.
