唐丹地区の中心的集落である小白浜地区は、漁業が盛んな傾斜のある集落です。そこに再建された小・中学校は、敷地の高低差を生かした分棟配置の木造校舎です。ここでも掘削土量を少なくすることで、早期の建設を可能にしています。また、周辺環境との調和に配慮したランドスケープが計画され、小白浜地区の街並みに溶け込んだ建築となっています。2018年グッドデザイン特別賞受賞。
Kojirahama, the central village of the Toni area, is a naturally sloping landscape site. The village depends on its fishing industry for its livelihood. The wooden buildings of the elementary and junior high schools are built separately taking advantage of the site’s multi level terrain. By working with the natural landscape and cutting down the amount of excavation to a minimum, the buildings’ construction period has been shortened. Also, buildings in harmony with the contour of the land, now a historical community, has been awarded the Good Design Special Award in 2018.
